Sustainability in Manufacturing

We are committed to responsible manufacturing as part of the wider Lesjöfors Group sustainability program. Our focus on sustainability reflects the increasing need for industry-wide change. Through targeted goals and measurable progress, we’re working to reduce our environmental impact and support long-term, circular production practices.

Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi)

As part of the Lesjöfors Group, we participate in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)—a global framework that helps companies set verified targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in line with climate science.

Supported by organisations including the UN Global Compact and the World Wide Fund for Nature, SBTi encourages companies to align with the Paris Agreement’s aim to limit global warming to well below 2°C, with efforts to reach 1.5°C.

This means our environmental targets are not based on broad pledges—they are data-driven, measurable, and verified, ensuring we contribute to real progress in reducing emissions across our operations.

Moving Toward Circular Manufacturing

Our SBTi-aligned strategy also supports a shift away from traditional manufacturing models. Rather than following the linear “make, use, dispose” pattern, we are adopting circular production principles that focus on:

  • Reducing waste at every stage
  • Reusing materials and components
  • Designing for recycling and recovery

This change not only reduces environmental impact but also encourages smarter use of resources. It represents a long-term change in how we work—supporting both product performance and environmental responsibility.

Working Toward a Greener Industry

European Springs and the Lesjöfors Group are part of a growing movement across the manufacturing sector—where operational efficiency and environmental standards work side by side. We believe this approach is essential not just for sustainability, but also for competitiveness and resilience in the years ahead.
