Research & development

Our research and development activity plays a key role in how we improve and expand our manufacturing capabilities. Around 10% of our turnover is reinvested annually into new machinery, tooling, and process upgrades—ensuring that our spring and pressing production remains competitive and adaptable.

Built into Production

We keep design and R&D fully in-house, allowing quick feedback between development and manufacturing. Any design refinements are integrated straight into production without delay, reducing lead times and keeping quality consistent. This close link also helps maintain production schedules—even on new or custom components.

Advanced Equipment

Ongoing investment in modern machinery supports the work of our R&D team. Equipment in use includes:

  • Servo Feeders and Multi-Head Lubrication Systems – Improve material flow and reduce setup time for high-speed press lines.
  • Tool and Press Monitoring (Unidor System) – Tracks force, tool wear, and press cycle performance in real time.
  • MicroCoat Lubrication and B Control Systems – Support small-batch production with short setup cycles and better process control.

These systems help us test new concepts efficiently while maintaining repeatability and safety in production.

Collaborative Innovation

We process 30–40 new product ideas each month, many developed directly with customers. Whether it’s adapting an existing part or starting from scratch, our R&D team works closely with clients to ensure the finished solution matches performance and production goals.

Design and Prototyping

New designs start with digital modelling. Our CAD software allows us to:

  • Build detailed part geometries
  • Run mechanical and stress simulations
  • Prepare models for laser-cut prototyping

We routinely create and refine prototypes before tooling begins. In recent updates, our press shop operations improved by over 20% through better press tool designs developed from this early-stage digital testing.
